The Digital Labourers Federation disclaimer… it’s just legal mumbo jumbo, but it should keep the lawyers busy !!!!

DEFINITIONS:
The non-profit, social group, named the ‘Digital Labourers Federation’ shall herein be known as ‘DLF’ .The individuals who attend the DLF meeting, shall herein be known as ‘members’

The computer file format ‘Hyper-Text Markup Language’ shall herein be known as ‘html’.

The html computer files and subsequent, electronically available html files, made available to the World Wide Web, contained on a single computer server, and with a logical single hierarchical progression, shall herein be known as a ‘site’.

The World Wide Web, accessible with a computer via internet connection shall herein be known as ‘web’ .

The html computer files available through the web site shall herein be known as a singular ‘page’ or plural ‘pages’.

Pages shall only be deemed pages of the DLF web site if the term DLF is present within each page, and the page is electronically stored on the computer server, through accessible the Internet Protocol address of www.dlf.org.au and stored within the electronic disk storage directory, named /var/www/dlf/htdocs.

A separate web site, not connected in any way whatsoever except by electronic linking, shall herein be known singularly as ‘link’ or plural as ‘links’.

The gathering of individuals, organized via the DLF web page entitled ‘DLF MEETING NOTICE’ shall be herein known singularly as ‘meeting’ and plural as ‘meetings’.

Individuals named within the pages of the DLF web site, shall herein be known as ‘contacts’.

The individual or individuals who are responsible for the creation, compilation, and maintenance of the html files that make up the DLF web site, shall herein be known as the ‘singularlyDLF-Webmaster’ and plurally as the ‘DLF-Webmasters’

PROVISIONS:
1. Any single indemnity, declaration or provision, in the event that the indemnity, declaration or provision be deemed void, shall be deemed excluded from this disclaimer, and all other indemnities declarations and provisions shall remain in place, and valid.

2. The company that stores the web site pages of the DLF shall in all events remain separate to the DLF, and in no way accountable, or responsible for any action taken against the DLF, it’s members or it’s contacts.

DECLARATIONS:
1. The DLF is in no way a workers trade union.

2. The viewing of the DLF web site is the sole responsibility of the viewer.

INDEMNITIES:
1. The DLF, it’s members and it’s contacts, take no responsibility for any statement or claim made by DLF members or contacts, whether by electronic transmission, electronic retrieval, magnetic storage, telephone, facsimile or orally, whether by acquaintance made due to the DLF, or in person at the DLF meetings.

2. The DLF, it’s members and it’s contacts, take no responsibility for any damage to any computer equipment or electronic instrument, that arises, directly or indirectly, from the accessing of the DLF web site or from any emails posted out via the DLF email lists.

3. The DLF, it’s members and it’s contacts, take no responsibility for any damage to any company or individual, which may arise directly or indirectly, from the viewing of the pages within the DLF web site or from any emails posted out via the DLF email lists.

4. The DLF, it’s members and it’s contacts, take no responsibility for web sites listed within the DLF links page, as they are are in no way controllable by the DLF, and shall in all events remain separate.

5. The DLF, it’s members and it’s contacts, take no responsibility for any injury, loss or damage to any individual or individuals who attend(s) the DLF meetings.

6. The DLF, it’s members and it’s contacts, take no responsibility for any loss or damage to the property of any individual or individuals who attend(s) the DLF meetings.

7. The DLF-Webmaster takes no responsibility for any legal action whatsoever which may arise directly or indirectly, due to the content of the DLF web site or from any emails posted out via the DLF email lists.

8. The DLF, it’s members and it’s contacts, take no responsibility for any offense taken, which may arise directly or indirectly, from the viewing of the pages within the DLF web site.

9. The DLF, it’s members and it’s contacts, take no responsibility for any legal fees or payments which may arise directly or indirectly, due to the translation of this disclaimer.

10. The DLF, it’s members and it’s contacts, take no responsibility for an individual or individuals, who by attending the DLF meetings, accessing the DLF web site, or corresponding with the DLF it’s members or it’s contacts, are breaking the terms and conditions of their employment contracts or confidentiality agreements in any way whatsoever, whether by electronic transmission, electronic retrieval, magnetic storage, telephone, facsimile or orally, whether by acquaintance made due to the DLF, or in person at the DLF meetings.

11. The DLF-Webmasters take no responsibility for damage, loss of data or any other type of problem that may arise from emails sent to members via the DLF list-server. This includes statements of a libelous or slanderous nature made by members and the intentional or accidental posting of computer virus’.

12. The DLF, it’s members and it’s contacts, take no responsibility for any legal action whatsoever, which may arise directly or indirectly, due to the content of the DLF web site or from any emails posted out via the DLF email lists.

SUPPLEMENTAL:
1. The DLF is a friendly social group.

2. The DLF is open to all people working within the digital arts industry.

3. If you are not currently working within the digital arts industry, you are still welcome. As the DLF may be your way into the digital arts industry.
